PROCALCIUM is a simple and economical solution for experienced aquarists wishing to raise the level of calcium in their seawater tank.
Calcium is an essential element in the construction of the skeleton of corals.
Naturally present in seawater in dissolved form, it is partly used by corals which synthesize it, but also benefits other invertebrates (construction of shells) as well as certain so-called calcareous algae.
The synthesis of this calcium carbonate needs 2 elements: carbon dioxide (CO2) and calcium in its ionic form.
This consumption of calcium by the animals present leads to the need for a constant and regular supply which is done by water changes with a quality salt as well as an addition of calcium in liquid form if necessary.
The use of a calcium reactor is also very effective.
Maintaining a rate close to the natural environment, ie 400/450 mg/L, is sufficient, you must avoid going above 550 mg/L, the best is sometimes the enemy of the good!
Description
Direction of Use
PROCALCIUM is used, preferably diluted in reverse osmosis or demineralised water.
The addition of 10 g of PROCALCIUM in 100L of water corresponds to an increase in the calcium concentration of 36mg/L.
The use of PROCALCIUM should be reserved for aquarists comfortable with monitoring and understanding the measurements of the parameters of their tank.
We recommend carrying out the dilution beforehand in reverse osmosis water, then, after perfect homogenization; pour into the stream of current.
Dosage
10 g of PROCALCIUM in 100L of water corresponds to an increase in the calcium concentration of 36mg/L.
