EHEIM MECH Mechanical Filter Media 1L

EHEIM MECH is a durable mechanical filter medium made from hollow ceramic rings. It is designed for use as the first filtration layer, where it captures larger dirt particles before water passes through finer mechanical and biological media.

As aquarium water flows through the ceramic rings, the movement helps heavier debris settle within the lower section of the filter. This reduces the load on the remaining filter media, improves overall filtration efficiency and helps extend maintenance intervals.

How to Use

Place EHEIM MECH in the lowest filter compartment as the first filtration layer.

Recommended layer thickness: approximately 3–5cm.

For a complete filtration setup:

1. EHEIM MECH — captures larger particles
2. EHEIM FIX — separator or coarse filtration layer
3. Biological filter media
4. EHEIM SYNTH — final fine filtration layer

Cleaning and Maintenance

Remove and rinse the ceramic rings gently with lukewarm water when dirty. The media can be reused multiple times.

Avoid using soap, detergent or cleaning chemicals.
