EHEIM Mech 1L Biological Filter Media

EHEIM MECH is a reliable and effective mechanical filter mediacomposed of hollow ceramic rings. It is designed to capture larger debris as the first step in the filtration process. As aquarium water enters the filter, it is swirled through the ceramic rings, which triggers heavy particles to settle at the bottom. This improves overall filtration efficiency and extends the lifespan of the finer filter layers that follow.

EHEIM MECH is made from durable ceramic, making it easy to rinse and reusable multiple times. It should be placed in the bottom compartment of your filter in a 3–5 cm thick layer, ensuring optimal mechanical prefiltration. Eliminating large particles early on creates a more stable and effective filtration environment.

Ideal for use in both freshwater and marine aquariums, EHEIM MECH can be combined with EHEIM FIX (as a separator layer) and EHEIM SYNTH (for fine filtration) to achieve complete and thorough water purification.
