How Flourish Excel Works

Aquatic plants require carbon for photosynthesis. While most planted tanks obtain carbon from dissolved CO₂, Flourish Excel supplies carbon through bioavailable organic compounds that plants can readily utilize.

This allows plants to build essential photosynthetic intermediates and support healthy growth even without a pressurized CO₂ system.

Dosage Instructions

Initial Dose

After first use or following a water change greater than 40%:

• Dose 5 mL per 40 L (10 US gallons)

Maintenance Dose

• Dose 5 mL per 200 L (50 US gallons) daily or every other day

For smaller aquariums, each cap thread is approximately 1 mL.

Additional Advantages

Flourish Excel also helps maintain iron in the more plant-available ferrous (Fe²⁺) form, improving nutrient uptake and supporting healthier plant growth.

Important Notes

⚠ Some sensitive plants, such as Anacharis (Egeria), may react poorly to heavy dosing.

⚠ Dose according to instructions to avoid stressing sensitive livestock or plants.

⚠ For best results, combine with a complete fertilizer such as Seachem Flourish® and proper lighting.
